Spread a Little Holiness to the Homebound

Spread a Little Holiness to the Homebound For some time now, we have been taking worship to our neighbors at Brookdale Senior Living Home (formerly called Emeritus). Join the faithful volunteers some Sunday and sing, listen to prayer requests, or share a few words. It is a blessing to know you’ve made a difference. The sign up form can be found at...

Food Pantry Weekly, 29Apr2015

Greetings Foodies! As you may know, our little food pantry has received an annual grant from the Capital (formerly Austin) District of the UMC Board of Missions. It is very helpful in allowing us to help all who come to us without cutting back on food, hours or service area. Today was our day to make a presentation to the committee that, along with the application paperwork, will be used to determine how much, if any, grant money we receive in 2016. I was there along with representatives from about 17 other ministries from around the district. I think it went satisfactorily. We expect to hear their decision sometime in the Fall. I pray that God’s will be done in their deliberations! Tonight was a lighter-than-usual evening at food pantry as we served 63 households. As always, thanks to our great volunteers! Please see the Volunteer Opportunity below, and please pray for all our clients. Food Pantry Weekly, 22 April 2015

Greetings Foodies! A dear sweet lady and her husband – food pantry clients – came to us this afternoon with a special gift. A couple of weeks ago she had asked for a list of names of our volunteers, so I gave her a list of first names. Her gift was framed and had our names, expressions of their gratitude, and lots of angels! It is delightful…and I know heartfelt. Tonight was busy, but it didn’t feel busy. We even ran out of bread! If you’ve worked in the food pantry in recent months you know we never run out of bread. It is such a blessing to be part of what God is doing at Covenant. BTW, next Wednesday morning I’ll be telling the Covenant Food Pantry story to the Capital District of the UMC Board of Missions as part of our application for 2016 grant money. Please pray for me as I prepare and present to them. And as always, please pray for all our clients.
