Greetings Foodies! . It has been said that the only certainty in life is change! . Tonight at the Food Pantry, things changed. We instituted a new system for registering clients who come to the pantry early by using a lottery system. While initially there was trepidation, by all accounts things went smoothly and no one was upset. Hallelujah! . Another change is that you have a new writer of this post while Carl travels in Europe for the next three weeks! Hopefully all the behind the scene things that Carl does every week have been delegated to a variety of other Foodies who I’m sure will do a great job! Thanks for all you have done for the Food Pantry, Carl! Now go and enjoy yourself! . I am always amazed the way God works at this Food Pantry. He must be very pleased with the work we do for His glory because he keeps blessing it. I was especially blessed when I helped a lady out to her car and she was telling me what a bad day she was having. While searching my brain for something inspirational to say to help ease her burden, she turned to me and said, “But you know, I am much better off than a lot folks out there. I have a car and I have some food. I am blessed.” Nothing I could say at that point would have mattered so I just hugged her! . Folks, the interaction and relationships I see fostered each and every week IS the inspiration and the food is merely the vehicle. To God...

Greetings Foodies! . It was a great day at the Food Pantry!  We started off kind of slow, with not very many coming to early sign-in; but they just kept coming throughout the evening, and we ended with the same number of households as last week (84). One hundred sixty-eight households in two weeks is nothing to sneeze at. Over 500 individuals. I think of these folks and pray for them throughout my week. I envision them opening a can or a box that they got at the food pantry on Wednesday, pouring milk on cereal or slicing up an apple or putting meat and veggies into a stew on their stove. And especially as I eat in my house. As a child of God, I’m thankful for what I have and I know these children of His are also thankful. They tell us so.  We all need a little help sometimes and it’s awesome to be able to see God work in people’s lives. . If you have never volunteered here before, come join us on Wednesday at 5:00 to see first hand what it is that keeps our volunteers coming back!  And if you are interested in exploring a leadership position in the Food Pantry, please contact me or Pastor Stella. . Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, and as always, please pray for all our clients. . . Other business: This week’s needs list for those wanting to donate shelf-stable food: soup canned chicken or beef We can always use: reusable shopping bags (not paper bags please.) empty egg cartons Financial donations to the food pantry may be made by check or...
