The Free Store

Freestore
As United Methodists, we believe that in God’s world there is enough for all people, and so the Free Store movement has taken root among us.

We partner with Free Store Austin, a collaborative ministry of the Austin District churches to extend that abundance by freely giving clothing and household goods to all who come through the doors. The Austin Free Store is located at Memorial United Methodist Church, 6100 Berkman Drive.  In addition, we operate an in-house Free Store at Covenant on Wednesdays from 4 -6 pm as a resource for our food pantry guests. Anyone can donate, anyone can shop, anyone can serve.

The main goal of the Free Store at both locations is getting to know each other and shaing prayer and fellowship.  And so, in addition to clothing and household goods, the FreeStore is always in need of COFFEE, cups, and napkins to help grow the community and extend the hospitality of God.

You are also encouraged to participate by either donating items back to the FreeStore or by volunteering in one of the many roles needed to extend the Free Store experience to others. A box for Free Store donations is located in the hallway across from the kitchen. For more information or to volunteer at the Austin Free Store, please visit their website at FreeStoreAustin.org.
