Food Pantry Weekly, 01Feb2017

Greetings Foodies!
It was a great day at the Food Pantry!  We had a light night tonight – 85 households; but our 12-week rolling average hit an all-time high of 90.0.
As we focus on helping others, we can easily get to thinking that we are sooooo generous.  But, every now and then I am humbled. Just today, one of our food pantry clients brought a whole bag of baby clothes for the Free Store.  And a near-by business representative came by to talk about how best to do a food drive to benefit our pantry. And an individual from the neighborhood brought a whole trunk full of food. And another neighbor came with several cakes she had baked for the snack supper. And our volunteers continue to amaze me.  And…and…and…it never ends. When the news is telling me that the world is rapidly going to a really hot place in a woven carrying container, it’s like God is reminding me that there are so many really really generous people all around us, eager to help others. It’s such a pleasure to be part of this great ministry.
If you have never volunteered here before, come join us on Wednesday at 5:00 to see first hand what keeps our volunteers coming back. From time to time we have volunteer needs at other times of the day too. And if you are interested in a leadership role, please contact Pastor Stella or me to explore opportunities.
Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, and as always, please pray for all our clients.
