God blessed 83 households with good nourishing food tonight through Covenant Food Pantry.
On Sunday I had a double treat. The Food Pantry, along with all the other Mission (outreach) ministries participated in a Mission Fair. It was great to see the amazing number of organizations working to lighten the burden of those in our community who are most heavily burdened. And second, I had the privilege of speaking about the Food Pantry at both worship services. I talked about the growing number of food-insecure families in our community and across the country. Here at Covenant we have provided 70,000 meals to low-income individuals in just the last year. We have seen the need increase by 20% in that 12 period. I’m happy that we can help, but sad to see the need continue to grow. Thanks for your continuing support and please pray for all our clients.
This week’s needs list for those wanting to donate shelf-stable food: canned fruit. Also, we can always use heavy plastic reusable grocery shopping bags (Not paper or “single-use” plastic bags please.)
If you have questions about how to make financial or food donations, contact the church office at 512-346-3124.
