Greetings Foodies!

Some changes tonight…first in the weather! With steadily deteriorating conditions, we opened the doors about 4:00 – more than an hour earlier than usual. And with God’s perfect timing, Pastor Stella had set up a large room with round tables, tablecloths, a coffee pot, a K-cup machine with hot cocoa and coffee selections, and even some cookies and popcorn! I heard more than one person express thanks for that warm greeting. Thank-you Stella for your tender-hearted nature!!!

Please notice the volunteer need below. Also, is anyone going from the Covenant part of town to far south Austin (South Congress near Slaughter)? We have a pile of empty banana boxes that need to be dropped off at Capital Area Food Bank. They are light weight but take up a lot of space, so you’d need a SUV, van or truck to hold very many. I wouldn’t make a special trip for this – it’s too far!  Let me know if you can help with this.

Blessings to you all. Please pray for all our clients.
Carl

SPECIAL NOTE:

Laura Clemens and her staff at the Covenant Preschool conducted a food drive for us!  That is so wonderful, not just the gathering of food, but providing the boys and girls the hands-on lesson about being kind to those in need. Thank-you so much to Laura and all the teachers for the great job you do.

Volunteer opportunities

  •  We have an immediate need on Tuesdays from about 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM to pick up food at Capital Area Food Bank. This job requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs and load these heavy items from the CAFB dock into a vehicle. You will be working with another volunteer in this job.
  • Recently, we’ve had more volunteers than needed on Wednesday evenings, so I now have a wait list!
  • To volunteer, donate, or for more information, please contact Carl Wilson at: cswilson78759@gmail.com
