Food Pantry Weekly, 05Oct2016

Greetings Foodies!
It was a great day at the Food Pantry!  We have such a diversity of folks who come to the food pantry. Some are up-beat; others are beat up by life and circumstances. Young, old, uneducated, PhD’s, you name it. And from all over the world. One of our clients lived in Italy under Mussolini. Just this week, she spoke of living where there was no food, and of eating moldy bread because that’s all they had. She is one of the many who come to us who is grateful for what our ministry offers. And of course there are today millions of refugees – many just children – who as a last resort, left their homes with only what they could carry in hopes of survival. Most of us have been so fortunate to never have experienced anything remotely like that.
Jesus spoke of those in need and he said to help them. That’s our calling. If you have never volunteered here before, come join us on Wednesday at 5:00 to see first hand what it is that keeps our volunteers coming back!  And if you are interested in exploring a leadership position in the Food Pantry, please contact me or Pastor Stella.
Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, and as always, please pray for all our clients.
