Food Pantry Weekly, 08Feb2017

Greetings Foodies!
It was a great day at the Food Pantry!  Another busy night tonight. One year ago our 12-week rolling average of households stood at 77; it’s now 91! Check out our numbers below including the attached chart.
We have a special volunteer opportunity I want you to know about. A team of faculty and students at Texas A&M is looking to partner with a few food pantries in central Texas to develop a client survey, then provide analysis of the results. To participate we need someone to lead our part of the effort. The amount of time required is not large and should complete in a month or two. The time frame is short, so if you are interested (or just curious), let me know within the next few days. If no one comes forward, we’ll likely decline the invitation to participate.
I’m so gratified each week by the way our team welcomes new volunteers. One person helps another, making them feeling at home. It happens almost every week! And it’s not just volunteers. I see clients helping each other as well. After we closed tonight, and three of us were walking to our cars, there was a client in the parking lot keeping another client company while she waited for her Capital Metro Access ride. Many friendships have been made at the food pantry.
If you have never volunteered here before, come join us on Wednesday at 5:00 to see first hand what keeps our volunteers coming back. From time to time we have volunteer needs at other times of the day too. And if you are interested in a leadership role, please contact Pastor Stella or me to explore opportunities.
Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, and as always, please pray for all our clients.
