Food Pantry Weekly, 08Jul2015

Greetings Foodies!

It was a very busy night tonight. 80 clients came to us for assistance – only the 3rd time we’ve seen that many. And half of those were registered tonight by our crack registration team, so it seemed even busier!  Amidst all the busyness and just the heaviness of needing to go to a food pantry, is the interaction between clients. Many seem to really enjoy each other. I hope that makes the situation just a tiny bit more bearable.

Once again today I was reminded of how God provides. In spite of my continued insistence that I am irreplaceable and indispensable, today I was needed elsewhere until mid-afternoon and yet everything that needed doing got done! Thanks so much to all who so freely give of their time.

Please take a look at our volunteer needs below… and please pray for all our clients.

May God richly bless you,

Volunteer opportunities

(1) Have some time on Wednesday mornings?  We have a small group that weighs and sorts produce, bread and other items coming from Trader Joe’s, and helps set up for Wednesday nights. Come at 10:00AM to help.

(2) How about Wednesday afternoons?  Receive, weigh and put away food delivered to Food Pantry from Whole Foods. This job requires the ability to lift up to about 30 lbs. Time: each Wednesday afternoon, delivery is generally between 1-2pm.

To volunteer or for more information, please contact Carl Wilson at:

To make donations, please contact the church office at 512-346-3124.
