Food Pantry Weekly, 09Mar2016

Greetings Foodies!
.
It was a dark and stormy night… er… it was a great night at the food pantry! The lightest night of 2016 in terms of clients. Maybe the weather had something to do with it.  By 6:30 we had caught up and new arrivers had no waiting. That hasn’t happened in a long time!
.
This is training time for all agencies that receive USDA-provided food, so both Kit and I took the government-conducted Civil Rights training course. It covered many items involving how to treat people, how to not violate a person’s civil rights and not discriminate. In light of all that, we’ll make a couple of very minor process changes, but tonight I summarized for our volunteers: “Keep doing what you’re doing!”  By God’s grace, these great folks have been applying the Golden Rule every Wednesday for almost five years!
.
Thanks to Covenant Bookkeeper Evelyn Gardner and Tech Lead Roger Weaver, we now have a Donate button on our website that allows anyone to make donations directly to the Covenant Food Pantry! So tell your friends and family!
.
Thanks so much to all our donors, supporters, encouragers, prayer warriors and volunteers. Each of you is an essential part of this ministry.
.
Please pray for all our clients.
