It was a small crowd tonight – just 34 families. It’s funny how we tend to think about such numbers. As the number of people coming to the food pantry grew over the months and now almost three years from single digits to double, to 20s to 30s, 40s and 50s households per week, we can sometimes think more is better. That’s the way the world is, right? We’re serving more now than we did last year… this is good! But I wonder. What if no one came? What if no one needed to come? Now that would be worth celebrating.
Thirty-four households tonight. One hundred twenty-eight individuals were touched in a positive way by God’s grace and our supporters’ and volunteers’ generosity. Jesus had a heart for the poor. He talked about them…a lot. He talked to them…a lot. He helped them. He fed them. And He encouraged others to help them – to feed them. It’s awesome to be in hands-on ministry, trying to follow Him. Come join us!
