Food Pantry Weekly, 12Apr2017

Greetings Foodies!
It was a great day at the Food Pantry.  Our clients, in general, are arriving earlier lately. Maybe it’s the nice weather. About 80% of the total number of people for the day arrive by 5:00, and only 20% arrive during the next two hours. So we have a big group to accommodate all at once and the early sign-in process is being strained.
Last night we asked all our clients to complete a survey – developed by a group of students and faculty at Texas A&M – aimed at understanding the client experience. We distributed 91 surveys and 77 were completed and returned.  The TAMU team will do some analysis and give us a report. We hope to learn some things that will help us get better at this. In any case, it will provide a laboratory for this group of students. Thanks to Dan Schultz who has worked with the Aggie team to get the survey developed and to the volunteers who came early last night to help out!
Put May 3rd 4-7pm on your calendar. We will be having a Sixth Anniversary Celebration Dinner!  Everyone is invited – volunteers, clients, church members, family, everyone. It should be fun. The folks from Barilla Pasta are cooking the main course, all at no cost to us!
If you have never volunteered at the food pantry before, come join us on Wednesday at 10am or 5pm to see first hand what keeps our volunteers coming back. Questions? Shoot me an email.  And if you are interested in a leadership role, please contact Pastor Stella or me to explore opportunities.
Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, and as always, please pray for all our clients.
