Food Pantry Weekly, 16Mar2016

Greetings Foodies!
.
It was a great Spring Break week at the Food Pantry.  We had lots of volunteers and lots of food and a steady flow of clients from early check-in time through closing. The folks at Adelphi Acres Community Garden brought us 23 pounds of right-out-of-the-ground kale, broccoli, Swiss chard and other beautiful healthy greens. What a great gift to the community they provide, and I can tell they enjoy what they do.  This seems to be a consistent theme, whether it’s staff at Capital Area Food Bank or in retail stores who donate, or volunteers at Keep Austin Fed or Mary’s Way, or those at St. Louis Food Pantry or Gateway Food Pantry who share their abundance with us, the Adelphi gardeners or our own awesome volunteers and Covenant staff – all seem to really enjoy helping others. When the world is so focused on getting, giving is it’s own reward!
.
Please pray for all our clients.
