Food Pantry Weekly, 16Sep2015

Greetings Foodies!

It was another great night at the food pantry. If I were in the shoes of many of our clients, I think I might be discouraged. Some go from pantry to pantry during the week, just to keep groceries on the table at home. Some get rides from others who are coming here. Many have kids. Many are elderly. Some have disabilities. Yeah, I think I might get discouraged. One of my devotional writers is focusing on God’s encouragement to the Jews moving from their wilderness wanderings to the promised land. God tells their leader, Joshua, “be strong and courageous…don’t be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go!” It’s a great encouragement for all who believe: Yes, life can be really tough; but don’t be discouraged, for God will be with you! Some of those I talked to tonight have great faith, great strength in the face of life’s challenges. All you who volunteer and support the food pantry…you are God’s hands and feet, helping our neighbors!

Please pray for all our clients.
