Food Pantry Weekly, 19Apr2017

Greetings Foodies!
.
It was a great day at the Food Pantry.  We completed the second and final week of our client survey last night and the data is off to the Texas A&M team for analysis. We hope to learn some things about the client experience and how we can improve our service.
.
The Free Store was in overdrive last night. I’ve never seen so much stuff! Rita and Erin do a wonderful job with this ministry. It has become a major draw for our clients on Wednesdays.
.
Colleen and I had a great meeting last night with a member of the Action Support Committee of the Capital District of the UMC. They provide financial assistance to ministries that address issues of poverty in our district, and have given us gifts the past few years. It was a good opportunity to give them a first hand look at the pantry in action and discuss financial issues in general. I can’t mention finances without adding that our members and friends provide the vast majority of our support…thank-you!
.
Planning is about complete for our Sixth Anniversary Celebration Dinner! It will be May 3rd from 4-7pm, come and go. Everyone is invited ― volunteers, clients, church members, friends, family, everyone! The Barilla Pasta people will be cooking and serving the main course. Members and friends can bring salad fixins, breads and desserts. And yes, the pantry will be open at the same time…it should be wonderful chaos!  I hope you can join us.
.
If you have never volunteered at the food pantry before, come join us on Wednesday at 5pm to see first hand what keeps our volunteers coming back. Questions? Shoot me an email.  And if you are interested in a leadership role, please contact Pastor Stella or me to explore opportunities.
.
Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, and as always, please pray for all our clients.
