Food Pantry Weekly, 24Jun2015

It was a long day. One which had caused me to trust God. No…really trust Him. But as usual, the right people were in place, doing what needed to be done, and it all worked out. Just before we closed at 7:00 tonight, Mary Koffend registered the 722nd household of our 2014-2015 year. That’s a lot of households. Many of those households visited many times — some every week; some came just once. That’s a lot of people. And it’s a lot of meals that went better than they otherwise might have. I think of them often as I sit down to eat, praying that they remember that it is their God who feeds them.

Our 2015-2016 year begins next Wednesday, July 1st, and as required by the USDA and Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, next week we begin re-registering all clients again. So if we have, say, 68 clients next week, as we did tonight, we’ll talk to each and do the intake paperwork for each. To make that possible, we have a team of 9 volunteers who will join us just to do registration. I met with them today and brought them up to speed on the paperwork and our process. I think we’re going to be just fine.

Please… pray for all our clients.

We are in need of a “new” full-size refrigerator. If you have one to donate, please contact Carl Wilson at
