It was a great day at the Food Pantry!
It was good to be back at the food pantry after a long vacation. I must mention the people who filled in for me these past three weeks: Colleen, Kit, Vickie, Maja and Bob — in addition to what they always do. Thank you so much! Everything ran smoothly due to your diligence. See…you really don’t need me! The lottery system we’ve been using the last five weeks is running smoothly. The idea was to remove the incentive for clients to come earlier and earlier in the day in order to be one of the first in line. Client feedback has been mostly positive.
The food pantry “business” is an odd one. After serving 91 households last week, we thought that was probably an outlier; but tonight we had 95! After averaging in the 80s last Fall, we saw our 12-week rolling average fall into the 70s, then 60s. But numbers have steadily increased the past 6 weeks and we’re back to 80 (see attached chart). I am also grateful to God for continuing to provide wonderful new volunteers. Recently added to our team are Daphne and Shane. Welcome!
