It has been said that the only certainty in life is change!
Tonight at the Food Pantry, things changed. We instituted a new system for registering clients who come to the pantry early by using a lottery system. While initially there was trepidation, by all accounts things went smoothly and no one was upset. Hallelujah!
Another change is that you have a new writer of this post while Carl travels in Europe for the next three weeks! Hopefully all the behind the scene things that Carl does every week have been delegated to a variety of other Foodies who I’m sure will do a great job! Thanks for all you have done for the Food Pantry, Carl! Now go and enjoy yourself!
I am always amazed the way God works at this Food Pantry. He must be very pleased with the work we do for His glory because he keeps blessing it. I was especially blessed when I helped a lady out to her car and she was telling me what a bad day she was having. While searching my brain for something inspirational to say to help ease her burden, she turned to me and said, “But you know, I am much better off than a lot folks out there. I have a car and I have some food. I am blessed.” Nothing I could say at that point would have mattered so I just hugged her!
Folks, the interaction and relationships I see fostered each and every week IS the inspiration and the food is merely the vehicle. To God be the Glory!
