To Glorify God and Share God’s Love

  • Our Community

Covenant United Methodist Church is a community called to nourish. It is a joyful place to share our talents, a friendly place to connect with others, and a spirit-filled place to meet God and celebrate who we are as children of God.

  • Our Mission

We are a Christian Fellowship of faith that supports each other and our community, feeding the hungry, welcoming strangers while living a life that leads to deeper experiences of walking humbly with God.

  • Our Expectations

We expect to continue emphasizing spiritual growth on life’s journey, diversity, and openness to new ideas, by keeping it alive here through many avenues, including Worship, Spiritual Formation, Fellowships, and Missions.

Our Core Values

We see God's beauty in everyone as we celebrate who we are as a people of faith:

•  Nourishing others through mission and ministry

•  Providing a safe environment for spiritual formation and growth to occur

•  Centering around worship that embraces a loving God and calls us to share that love

•  Developing caring and supportive friendships

•  Nurturing individuals and encouraging the use of their talents in service to others

We encourage people to think for themselves.

• All members are encouraged to work out their own faith and to live out their faith with God’s guidance ensuring a continuance of shared vision and love through supportive and nurturing atmospheres.

What We Care About

People matter most.

•  Our congregation is called to nourish and we are committed to that calling.

•  We are committed to God’s love and sharing that love which binds our lives together.

•  We are committed to nurturing the spiritual development of every person in our community from the youngest child to the oldest adult.

We embrace diversity.

•  We do not simply acknowledge each other's differences; we try to learn from each other and grow from these experiences.

•  Because of our diverse religious backgrounds, we have learned the importance of listening to each other.

•  We strive to treat each other with dignity and respect, and know that we are at our best when we talk openly and honestly with each other.

Faithful Living

We apply our faith to the relevant issues of our day and help others.

•   God gave us the ability to learn and grow for we are beings animated by the breath or Spirit of God.

•  We are affiliated with the world-wide United Methodist Church. Our denomination’s founder, John Wesley, believed in holiness of heart and life and lived by the philosophy “think and let think.” We still pride ourselves on being a church of people whose hearts, minds, and doors are open to God and open to others.

•  We are committed to work together to discern what it means to live faithfully in today's world.

We meet people where they are.

•  We always welcome anyone who wants to become part of our fellowship

Our Sacraments

  • Our Sacraments

We have two Sacraments, which are baptism and communion. The sacraments are acts of God’s self-giving and our own self-giving. They are expressions of koinonia, community, participation, and sharing. They express to us a hope; and in this hope, we strive to remake the world into the glory of God.

We have Holy Communion the first Sunday of each month. We invite everyone to partake of Holy Communion. Children are welcome too.

  • Baptism

We believe that all of the baptized 'belong body and soul to our God.' No matter who – no matter where we are on life's journey – we all belong to God and to one worldwide community of faith. All persons baptized – past, present and future – are connected to each other and to God through the sacrament of baptism. We baptize during worship when the community is present because baptism includes the community's promise of 'love, support and care.

  • Communion

We believe that all people of faith are invited to join Christ at the table for the sacrament of Communion. Just as many grains of wheat are gathered to make one loaf of bread and many grapes are gathered to make one cup of wine, we, the many people of God, are made one in the body, the church. The breaking of bread and the pouring of wine reminds us of the costliness of unconditional love and the beauty of serving others and God to which we are all called as we remember and celebrate Christ's presence among us.
