Missions and Ways to Serve
At Covenant, we serve locally and throughout the world to help alleviate suffering, raise awareness, and share the love of Christ.
Covenant's Food Pantry feed families every Wednesday evening, and is staffed entirely by the church and the community. We feed more than 100 families a week, and offer other services such as our Free Store, health checks with our Wesley nurse, and information on vital resources resources.
We support several local non-profits with funds and volunteers. These include Habitat for Humanity, Austin Disaster Relief Network, and Drive a Senior Northwest. We provide funding and support for college-bound teens who are aging out of the foster care system through Tools for Teens in Transition. The Blessing of the Animals service helps organizations such as Emancipet and programs that help military veterans pay for veterinary care for their pets.
As part of the world-wide United Methodist Church, we contribute to global causes. We partner with True Vineyards Ministries to empower widows in Rwanda and other parts of Africa, we have funded international microloans through KIVA, and we participate in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry.
Our church members participate in Church World Service CROP Walk for world hunger, and we run an alternative Christmas giving program called Gifts of Caring that supports global causes such as Heifer International.
